A safe space for Toyota-loving women.

Lady Owned Toyotas

Established on July 1, 2019 by Jamie Handel, Lady Owned Toyotas (LOT) is a community for women that focuses on off-roading and overlanding for those who own or have a passion for Toyota vehicles. The group is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, encouraging women of varying skill levels to share their experiences, pose questions, and build confidence in off-roading, overlanding, and vehicle maintenance. LOT prioritizes empowerment through education, providing a safe environment where members can learn without fear of judgment.

The concept for Lady Owned Toyotas came to Jamie when she realized there was a very limited support system for women in the Toyota community. She aimed to establish a safe community for women who cherished their Toyota vehicles and to build friendships with others who felt the same way. The community started off as an Instagram page and it rapidly expanded, attracting hundreds of members in just the first six months. Lady Owned Toyotas is now recognized nationwide and internationally, spanning over all 50 states of the United States as well as 12 other countries!

Lady Owned Toyotas hosts events such as trail runs, camping excursions, and workshops that impart crucial skills and knowledge such as recovery techniques, gear setup, and vehicle modifications. Whether in-person or online, LOT encourages connections among members, helping them form friendships and expand their knowledge. Through an active Instagram and Facebook group, members showcase their vehicles, share their adventures, and offer advice, thereby creating a robust sense of community.

Whether you’re just starting out or are a seasoned off-roader, Lady Owned Toyotas provides a friendly environment to learn, connect, and find inspiration.
